New Zealand Visa & Travel Authorization

NZeTA for short stays

Overview

Japanese passport holders need an NZeTA for short-term tourism (up to 90 days).

NZeTA is required for visa-waiver country passport holders visiting New Zealand for tourism, business meetings, or transit. Introduced in 2019, it complements the older visa-waiver arrangement and adds an additional International Visitor Levy (IVL) for conservation/tourism.
